B&w

Inspired by Richard Koci Hernandez, I am experimenting with iPhone photo’s and editing them with apps. Find myself drawn to gritty black and white images. The most interesting thing I have learned is that b&w is forcing you to simplify images much more that color. Busy images look horrible in black and white where they could still be interesting in color. Black and whity mystifies an image are more abstract. In color it is more difficult to loose a direct, realistic interpretation.

This one I took with black and white in mind, I was attracted to the long shadows the couple were creating. (And yes, a lower viewpoint might have improved the overall image.)

This clown somewhat worked.

A very busy image like was is not very in color but very complex in black and white.
